ROLE OVERVIEW:
In this role as Content Creator, you work alongside a team of Creatives and a Producer to plan, shoot, edit and optimize a wide range of content. From native Tik Tok shots on device to staged food photography, you will create a range of still and video assets for iconic brands. You are an expert in social content with a deep understanding of platforms and what audiences expect on each.
You enjoy the creative process and contribute to ideas, brand acts, and social content that gets people talking. You will plan, shoot, edit, and design content at the speed of culture, staying current with trends and creating content for all platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, Tik Tok, You Tube, etc.). You are a storyteller who uses your skills daily to set us apart online.
Your work will impact a multi-talented team in North America (Toronto & Chicago) that blurs the lines of what advertising can be in today’s always-on, socially connected industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- SOCIAL EXPERTISE: You can identify trends and opportunities as they emerge in social and quickly ideate and present concepts for content that stays true to our brands while participating in online dialogue.
- SOCIAL STRATEGY: Collaborate with the team to ideate planned content monthly and quarterly to maintain an always-on social approach. Research and proactively recommend ideas, solutions, and new content for the brands.
- CONTENT CREATION: Use a robust skillset from photography to videography, design, and platform-native tools to create a wide range of content. From quick social posts to high-quality shoots, switch quickly between styles.
- STORYTELLING: Ideate, shoot, and edit effective stories that match the quality of each social platform.
- COLLABORATION: Work with a large team of creatives from ideation to execution, ensuring ideas are brought to life faithfully.
- WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT: Manage multiple priorities with rapid turnaround times for real-time moments, capturing trending moments, editing quickly and efficiently to deliver high-quality work on time and with accuracy.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a design or content creation role with a wide range of content.
- A high-quality portfolio displaying a range of social content, ideally from a creative agency environment.
- Understanding of design programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and After Effects, including best practices for social channels.
- Demonstrated ability to create relevant content across platforms with strong visual storytelling, videography, and video editing skills. Graphic design experience is a plus.
- Passion and curiosity for creating creative content on social platforms (Instagram visuals, Tik Tok videos, You Tube edits, etc.).
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and eager to continue learning to produce social-first content.
- Experience delivering high-quality content for clients with high standards of quality and excellence.
- Ability to problem solve and recommend production/design-appropriate solutions.
- Highly organized with the ability to work under tight deadlines and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for food that enhances the authenticity and appeal of brand marketing in the culinary industry.
- A desire to produce award-winning, internationally recognized work.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $60,000–$75,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of The Kitchen’s total rewards program.
