Launch your photography career with The Globe and Mail as a Photo Apprentice. Work on diverse projects including news, features, and portraits while receiving mentorship in a collaborative environment.
The Globe and Mail is scouting two passionate photo apprentices eager to engage in early career photojournalism. Over six weeks, you will hone your visual storytelling skills while producing impactful imagery across various platforms. Training will be directly from an award-winning photojournalist and experienced video team, focusing on real-world news scenarios and creative challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce high-quality images for news, business, and features
• Collaborate closely with the photo desk and video team
• Manage your photography gear effectively during shoots
• Attend to daily news coverage and portrait needs
• Edit and prepare photos using software like Photoshop
Requirements:
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
• Own DSLR camera with essential lenses and hardware
• Familiarity with Photo Mechanic and editing software
• Experience in covering news stories preferred
• Must be eligible to work in Canada until December 2027
