We’re on the lookout for someone unique. A person with drive, passion and energy to create something great. Magic Circle Workshop is a full scale production studio, with end-to-end video and photography services that stand alone and integrate seamlessly with Cossette and our broader network, Plus Company.

Transparency matters to us. For this role, you can expect a salary between $75, annually, depending on experience. This is for an existing vacancy.

As a Post Producer, you will work closely with our creative and business leads across the network, acting as an expert in the room on all things production. If you are a creative, meticulously detail-oriented and a multi-tasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, then we want you to apply!

What you will do.
  • Lead post-production based projects across multiple platforms (broadcast, digital & social), bringing expertise, experience and innovative thinking to some of the world’s leading brands.
  • Be the production expert in the room from briefing through delivery by bringing innovative ideas and flair and partnering closely with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Advise on post-production approaches, including outlining budget parameters, unseen opportunities and post partners to execute on the creative.
  • Oversee resourcing and file transfers for our offline editors, assistants and external suppliers, ensuring smooth delivery of all post production work.
  • Support the team of agency producers and address various post-production related questions – resourcing, budgeting, timelines, etc.
  • Be creative minded, excited by the opportunity to produce groundbreaking work in new and inventive ways, especially in the post-production industry.
  • Be client facing and confidently work closely with client teams throughout the post-production process.
  • Be detail-oriented and meticulous with all logistical and financial aspects of production including project management, scoping, timelines, contract negotiations, cost tracking and reconciliations on budgets ranging from $100k-1M+ confidently.
  • Have an extensive network of contacts in the post-production field, both locally and globally, with experience working in different markets.
  • Mentor and foster growth within the production and post-production department.
What you’ll bring to the table.
  • A background in a creative agency role, with non-traditional agency experience (post-production company, online or VFX finishing house) advantageous.
  • Knowledge of post-production software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Pro Tools, Edit Share, Frame.io, etc.)
  • Strong post-production knowledge, with experience working directly with editors, motion designers, animators, colourists, sound engineers and more.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects from small to large scale productions.
  • Deep understanding of post-production workflows: technical process (editing, colour grading, mixing, VFX, DCP) and delivery standards & specs.
  • Experience in negotiating vendor contracts including production and subcontractor agreements, music licensing, subscriptions, etc.
  • Superb organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate and be a valued and respected member of the team.
  • Toronto-based with flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project deadlines (when absolutely necessary).
  • Hybrid role, in office a minimum of twice per week.
  • Bilingualism is advantageous.
What’s in it for you:

We value the "whole you"
  • An innovative and entrepreneurial work environment that promotes ingenuity and individuality – with the best of colleagues, and the best of clients.
  • Hybrid work models and flexible hours, plus a work from anywhere policy for short-term stays in other regions.
  • Generous Vacation starting at 3 weeks + 1 extra week over the holidays.
