We are seeking a Senior VFX Artist for an upcoming independent documentary feature, based in Toronto, ON. This is a critical role for our project, with post-production commencing in mid November 2026. This isn't a typical talking-head doc; it's a visually driven exploration of forgotten historical events, blending archival footage with new, artfully crafted sequences. We need someone who can help us elevate the visual storytelling, bringing a subtle yet impactful layer of polish and creative enhancement to the final film.
We are looking for an artist to join our core team, contributing their expertise and vision. Your key responsibilities will include motion graphics, compositing, clean-up, and subtle visual enhancements. We are looking for a creative problem-solver who can integrate visual effects into a documentary context, maintaining authenticity while adding production value. We need someone who can work independently and collaborate effectively within a small, dedicated team.
You should have a strong portfolio demonstrating your experience with documentary or high-end factual content, or projects with a similar aesthetic. Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., After Effects, Nuke) is essential. A reel showcasing your best work is a must. This is an equity partnership opportunity, reflecting our collaborative spirit and commitment to bringing this film to life. We anticipate about 3-4 months of focused post-production work, with flexible hours.
While we have a post-production suite available, bringing your own workstation and software is a plus.
