Building Planning Manager

We are ready to take this game to the next level and we’re looking for someone who’s passionate about shaping the spaces where great work happens. In this role, you’ll lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of corporate space standards, driving consistency and excellence across all divisions.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee strategic space, headcount, and furniture planning to meet occupancy needs while aligning with office standards and regulatory requirements
  • Lead short and long‑range office planning, exploring innovative workplace solutions that adapt to evolving business needs
  • Act as a subject‑matter expert for questions and matters related to corporate interior design, furniture and space planning to ensure office design and plans reflect OLG’s brand strategy and standards
  • Work closely with stakeholders to bring together space and furniture needs, creating workplace solutions that are practical, polished, and business‑focused
  • Oversee the creation of preliminary feasibility and seating plans for portfolio optimization in order to identify and implement the most effective solutions
  • Lead interior design assignments for pre‑design, programming, schematic design and provide recommendations on facilities design to ensure that implementations align with OLG’s brand strategy
  • Ensure that space assigned to Business Partners meets their immediate needs and work styles in order to facilitate an optimal workspace
  • Liaise with stakeholders to gain understanding of specific client needs and translate them into real‑estate and accommodation solutions to facilitate a high‑functionality workspace
  • Manage the development and implementation of space analysis, area allocations and general area calculations for incoming or moving staff, or operational projects to facilitate a streamlined space transition process
Qualifications
  • University or college degree/diploma in Architecture or Interior Design or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Commercial Office Interior Design, including design, programming and planning, occupancy planning, Workspace Strategy, and commercial office furniture and fixtures
  • Exposure to facility management, project management, procurement, contracts, and evolving commercial office trends
  • Knowledge of AODA standards and best practices
  • Knowledge of commercial office furniture and fixture planning and specifying construction and engineering practices, commercial office leases, and business management
  • Interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Intermediate level Microsoft suite and AutoCAD technical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Detail oriented and team minded
  • Self‑motivated professional with strong judgement, capable of independently prioritizing tasks and driving work to completion
