Permanent & Full‑Time.
Your Role Lead all phases of design coordination, construction project management, procurement, and financial reporting for new projects and existing asset renovations across Fragrance & Beauty, Watches & Fine Jewelry, Fashion, and CHANEL Corporate offices in Canada.
Manage the design process from concept to execution, ensuring local adaptation of drawings and renderings received from the UK regional Store Planning team.
Coordinate back‑of‑house stockrooms and operational spaces, hire local professionals, and prepare full working drawing packages for permits, tenders, and construction.
Collaborate with internal cross‑functional teams to understand operational needs and incorporate them into design solutions.
Prepare planning, budgeting, and forecasting of assigned projects; review with the Head of Store Planning, CFO, and President; and report monthly on all active projects.
Perform site visits, collaborate with the Repair and Maintenance Manager, and ensure brand image standards are maintained across the Canadian portfolio.
Obtain approvals for proposed design, detail specifications, and manage overall project quality, schedule, and budget.
Lead the selection, negotiation, and management of general contractors, suppliers, and consultant teams; award contracts and conduct construction site walkthroughs.
Identify discrepancies between approved drawings and site conditions, resolve variances, and issue status reports to regional and local teams.
Inspect quality of finishes, furniture, materials, and products; coordinate replacements with suppliers as needed.
Oversee shop fitters and installation teams; ensure timely, high‑quality delivery and compliance with building and health & safety regulations.
Collaborate with finance to manage invoices, payments, and procurements using COUPA; coordinate customs clearance and delivery logistics.
Travel within Canada up to 30% of the role.
Support legal and leasing teams with lease documents related to store design and construction.
Qualifications Minimum 10+ years retail store design experience, client or agency side.
Degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or equivalent experience.
Strong comprehension of architectural and engineering drawings.
Practical understanding of a construction site.
PMP designation or LEED accreditation is an asset.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up; experience with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Excel, and COUPA is an asset.
Energetic in fast‑paced design/architecture projects and collaborative environments.
Competitive Base Salary $125,000—$135,000 plus bonus.
