Job Title:

Design Architect (Contract | Hybrid – GTA)

We’re currently looking for an experienced Design Architect to support large-scale, complex infrastructure and facility projects. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering exposure to multi-disciplinary design, construction support, and stakeholder coordination within a transit-focused environment.

Work Model:
Hybrid (GTA-based)

Contract Length: 1 year (with extension options)

Workload:
Approx. 35 hours/week

• Deliver full architectural design services for transit-related facilities
• Lead and review work completed by technologists, draftspersons, and support staff
• Conduct site visits, field reviews, and prepare reports and deficiency documentation
• Prepare schematic, preliminary, and detailed design documentation
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, constructability, and safety requirements
• Review shop drawings, contract submittals, and support construction activities
• Coordinate with engineering teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders
• Review third-party design submissions and development proposals
• Maintain professional architectural registration in Ontario

• University degree in Architecture
• Licensed Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) – mandatory
• Minimum 10 years of experience on complex, multi-disciplinary projects
• Strong experience producing and managing contract documentation
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with regular GTA site visits

• Experience with transit or large public infrastructure facilities
• Proficiency in Revit and/or Micro Station
• Hybrid work with regular on-site and office presence (2–3 days/week as required)
• PPE provided (safety vest, hardhat, safety glasses); safety footwear required
• Free transit access provided during the contract period
• 1-year contract, with options to extend up to two additional 1-year terms.
• Approximately 35 hours/week, with only actual hours worked considered billable.
