About the Role

City Build Recruitment is working with our client, a well-established architectural practice, to find a senior-level architect with strong technical expertise and leadership capability. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple complex projects while coordinating closely with clients, consultants, and construction teams.

The position focuses on commercial, retail, and industrial projects, with responsibility spanning design coordination, production oversight, and contract administration.

Qualifications

Professional degree in Architecture, Architectural Science, or Architectural Technology

15+ years of relevant project experience in commercial/retail and industrial sectors

Strong knowledge of current Building Codes
, standards, construction methods, detailing, and building science

Proven ability to supervise the production of multiple projects simultaneously

Demonstrated leadership and ability to work effectively within a team environment

Comfortable engaging with a wide range of project stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, AHJs, clients, and senior management

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to perform well in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and collaborate within the project team

Meet with clients to define and refine project requirements

Review and approve shop drawings; coordinate with sub-consultants

Conduct routine site visits to monitor construction progress and provide design review feedback

Perform full contract administration responsibilities

Review and approve internal and consultant proposals and project budgets

Conduct code reviews

Review working drawings and permit sets; coordinate revisions with sub-consultants

Resolve on-site construction and coordination issues

Respond to RFIs and provide supplemental instructions as required

Prepare occasional design sketches and 3D visualizations

Liaise with all project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
