Effective January 1, 2026, the Department of Paediatrics, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Neurology at The Hospital for Sick Children, 555 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, an academic health science centre dedicated exclusively to children, affiliated with the University of Toronto, is recruiting a full‑time permanent staff physician.
We are seeking an academically oriented pediatric neurologist with subspecialty training in paediatric neurology and neuromuscular disorders. Fellowship training in the diagnosis and management of pediatric neuromuscular diseases and formal training and certification in performing and interpreting electromyography and nerve conduction studies, with successful completion of the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists EMG/NCS examination or equivalent, is required.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate’s clinical duties will include:
- Care of children admitted to the general neurology service
- Inpatient consultations for neurology and neuromuscular services
- Performance and interpretation of EMG/NCV studies
- Ambulatory clinics in general neurology and neuromuscular disorders
- Education and supervision of residents and other learners in clinical neurology and neuromuscular disorders
Opportunities for research support are available for applicants with an established research program.
Qualifications- Must be able to function proficiently in English
- Hold an MD, MBBS or equivalent
- Certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
The position will remain open until filled.
Academic Appointment and CompensationThe successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, ranging from $275,543 to $326,012 per annum. A benefits package that includes medical, dental, life insurance, long‑term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package will be provided.
