The Departments of Medicine hael's Hospital and the University of Toronto are seeking a qualified academic hematologist with expertise in inherited and acquired bleeding disorders and classical and complex hematology. The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher (CT), Clinician Educator (CE), Clinician Investigator or Clinician in Quality and Innovation (CQI).
The expected start date of the position is July 1, 2026, or shortly thereafter.
The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and should have, or be eligible for, certification in Hematology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Preferably, the candidate will also have or be working towards a graduate degree relevant to their area of specialization. The candidate will participate in the educational programs in Hematology hael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto and will collaborate in clinical research and quality improvement programs.

The Division currently consists of 14 full-time hematologists and oncologists, with an international reputation in clinical research, education and quality improvement. This position will support current in- and out-patient demands in non-m malignant classical-complex hematology and support the Hematology-Oncology Clinical Research Group (HOCRG). The candidate will have clinical expertise in bleeding disorders and a proven academic record in research, quality improvement or education.
The successful candidate will report to the Head, Division of Hematology/Oncology hael’s Hospital.
- Provide patient care in non-malignant classical and complex hematology, including bleeding disorders.
- Participate in educational programs in Hematology hael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto.
- Collaborate in clinical research and quality improvement programs, including HOCRG activities.
- Contribute to academic activities aligned with Clinician Teacher (CT), Clinician Educator (CE), Clinician Investigator (CI) or Clinician in Quality and Innovation (CQI) designations.
- MD degree and eligibility for certification in Hematology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- Preferably, a graduate degree relevant to hematology (or working toward one).
- Ability to participate in education, research and quality improvement activities.
