Description:
The Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto is inviting applications for the position of a Rheumatologist to join the Division of Rheumatology based at University Health Network/Sinai Health System, with a primary appointment at Mt Sinai Hospital/Sinai Health System (MSH). This full-time position will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a position description as a Clinician Teacher at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The Clinician Teacher position reflects a time distribution of approximately 70% clinical work and 30% of time related to scholarly and/or administrative duties. Expected start date is July 1, 2026, or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.
Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Clinical work predominantly in the outpatient setting; participate as an attending physician for the rheumatology consultation service at University Health Network/Mount Sinai Hospital.
- Participate in after-hours/weekend on-call schedule for the division across all UHN sites and Mount Sinai Hospital.
- Engage in clinical and formal teaching at hospital and city-wide levels per Divisional and Departmental needs.
- Participate in scholarly pursuits and administrative service within scope of practice and expertise.
Qualifications:
- MD degree or equivalent; completed subspecialty training in internal medicine and rheumatology postgraduate programs; eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
- Advanced formal training in education and/or a track record of sustained excellence in teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and/or continuing professional development levels (teaching dossier preferred).
- Clinical expertise in assessment and management of complex rheumatic conditions in ambulatory and inpatient settings; expertise in pregnancy across the rheumatology spectrum.
- Demonstrated ability for inter-disciplinary collaboration.
Compensation:
- Anticipated compensation is approximately $200,000 - $300,000 per year (estimate based on fee-for-service billings for a Clinician Teacher plus alternate funding plan).
