We are excited to expand our team of physicians who are accredited by the Canadian Academy of Pain Management and are currently looking for part-time work.

Responsibilities
Provide consultations for veterans and other patients interested in obtaining a medical cannabis prescription
Help educate patients on the use of cannabis as a medicine
Leveraging your experience as a pain specialist to review another healthcare practitioner’s medical cannabis treatment plan
Approving the plan when appropriate, and drafting and submitting an Exceptional Coverage Letter advising the insurer that, in your expert opinion, the treatment plan is reasonable and necessary
When applicable, recommending that the patient receive full insurance coverage to ensure sufficient access to their medication
Follow up with patients and monitor response to dosage and cannabinoids prescribed
Other duties assigned.
Experience
Medical degree, registration and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of your province
Accreditation by the Canadian Academy of Pain Management
Specialty designation preferred
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal in English
Demonstrated ability to work independently and to manage a busy workload
Team-oriented approach with existing team members and physicians
Must be highly organized and have a good sense of time management
Informed and abreast of scientific research and/or willing to learn more about the industry
Experience in pain management or mental health is an asset
Previous work with veterans and/or medical cannabis is a big asset
