The Department of Medical Imaging, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, in affiliation with Sinai Health, the University Health Network and Women's College Hospital, is recruiting an Abdominal Radiologist for the Abdominal Division in the Joint Department of Medical Imaging. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2026.
The Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) is a multi-institutional academic radiology network affiliated with the University of Toronto and operates across the University Health Network Hospitals (Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute), Sinai Health System, and Women's College Hospital. It offers a collaborative, high-volume environment with strong subspecialty expertise, advanced imaging infrastructure, and robust opportunities for research, education, and clinical innovation in abdominal imaging.
JDMI operates an install base of 15 CT and 12 MRI scanners (including dedicated research scanners), 12 X-ray and 40 ultrasound units, two PET-CT scanners, and one PET MRI scanner.
Abdominal radiologists interpret approximately 10,000 radiographs, 70,000 abdominal CTs, over 14,000 abdominal MRIs, and more than 95,000 abdominal ultrasound studies annually, and perform roughly 4,000 image-guided interventions. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of 35 faculty members alongside 16–18 clinical fellows within the Abdominal Imaging Division.
Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent degree as well as board certification in diagnostic radiology from the RCPSC, A , or international organization that recognizes medical specialists. They must also be a fellowship-trained abdominal radiologist. A strong interest and previous engagement in research and teaching are expected. The successful applicant must be licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
The successful applicant should be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. The academic rank will, however, be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Compensation will be in accordance with the uniform average salary of a Radiologist in the Province of Ontario, with a range that exceeds $300,000 CAD per annum.
For additional information regarding the Abdominal Imaging Division, kindly contact the Division Head, Dr. Sangeet Ghai. The position will remain open until filled.
