Description:

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto are inviting applications for the position of Chief, Adult Neurodevelopment Division at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The anticipated start date is February 1, 2027.

CAMH is Canada's largest academic health science center dedicated to mental health and addictions and is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Adult Neurodevelopment Division, supports outpatient, outreach and consultation liaison services for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders including intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and co-occurring mental illnesses across the lifespan. The successful candidate will join a team of exceptional clinicians, teachers and researchers, pursuing research in translational neuroscience, interventions’ research, and epidemiology.

The candidate will be dedicated to excellence in clinical care, teaching and research and to recruiting and developing the next generation of clinicians, teachers, educators and researchers. The candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills and experience working in complex organizations. The successful candidate will lead a passionate, connected and growing division with significant existing resources, including internal and external funding. The Division Chief will be a key member of both the clinical and academic leadership teams at CAMH, working collaboratively to ensure the successful integration of clinical care, teaching and research into all aspects of the organization.

The Division Chief will represent CAMH at local, provincial, and national tables on all matters related to adult neurodevelopmental disorders and work collaboratively with other organizations in the greater Toronto region and Ontario.

The candidate must hold a graduate degree and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The successful must be eligible for academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry, at the University of Toronto.

Candidates with expertise in child and transitional age populations, with strong leadership skills and expertise in neurodevelopmental conditions are also encouraged to apply. Academic rank will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. English language proficiency is required.

This is a full-time position with estimated remuneration in the range of $350,000 - $450,000 per annum based on a combination of protected time for administrative, research, clinical stipends, fees for service, funding through Academic and Educational Trust Funds, and on-call stipends. Benefits are not included. This position is located at 1025 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON, M6J 1H4.

The position is a 5-year term with the opportunity for renewal for an additional 5 years.
