PositionSummary
At Stem Health, musculoskeletal health and bone health are closely linked pillars of our preventive care model and we are looking for a clinician who can meaningfully contribute to both. This is a dual-scope role for a Doctor of Chiropractic who is also certified to perform DEXA scanning, enabling a uniquely integrated approach to spinal health, joint function, bone mineral density assessment, and body composition analysis within a single clinical relationship.
In this role, you will deliver high-touch, personalized chiropractic care to Stem Health members while also performing DEXA bone density and body composition studies as part of their comprehensive preventive health assessments. The combination of manual clinical expertise and objective diagnostic imaging makes this role an exceptional fit for Stem Health's data-informed, relationship-based care model where every intervention is grounded in evidence and every result is integrated into the member's Unified Health Story.
Key Responsibilities Chiropractic assessment and treatment- Conduct comprehensive musculoskeletal assessments including spinal, joint, and neurological evaluation, postural analysis, and functional movement screening to establish an accurate clinical picture of each member's presenting condition and underlying biomechanics.
- Deliver high-quality chiropractic care using evidence-based manual therapy techniques including spinal and extremity manipulation, joint mobilization, soft tissue therapy, and therapeutic exercise guidance.
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on pain relief, functional restoration, injury prevention, and long-term musculoskeletal resilience with a particular emphasis on spinal health, posture, and the musculoskeletal contributors to healthy ageing.
- Provide targeted chiropractic management for members with osteoporosis, low bone density, or vertebral health concerns adapting technique selection, force parameters, and treatment intensity appropriately for members at elevated fracture risk.
- Translate complex musculoskeletal and bone health findings into clear, accessible language that empowers members to understand their condition and make informed decisions about their care.
- Perform high-quality dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA/DXA) scans at central skeletal sites (lumbar spine, proximal femur, forearm) for bone mineral density assessment and fracture risk stratification, in accordance with ISCD technical standards.
- Conduct total body composition scans to accurately measure lean mass, fat mass, visceral adipose tissue, and regional body composition as part of comprehensive metabolic and preventive health assessments.
- Ensure precise member positioning and scan acquisition to guarantee reproducible, diagnostically reliable results reviewing each scan for image quality and completeness before release.
- Analyze DEXA outputs accurately T-scores, Z-scores, BMD values, BMC, and body composition metrics and generate clear, well-structured reports that provide the reviewing physician with the data and context needed for high-quality clinical interpretation.
- Perform daily phantom calibration and QC procedures to verify scanner accuracy and maintain detailed QC logs; uphold all radiation safety protocols in accordance with ALARA principles.
- Identify and flag clinically significant DEXA findings including low bone density, vertebral fracture assessment (VFA) findings, or notable body composition patterns to the appropriate physician promptly.
