The Division of Gynecologic Oncology is committed to providing the highest quality care for this patient population. Providing care includes ensuring the highest quality surgical techniques, staying at the forefront of innovation all the while providing the sensitive environment to care for these women. Our division is heavily involved in various aspects of research for women with gynecologic cancers
The Physician Assistant (PA) will be based at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre but will function at both sites:
Toronto General Hospital and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Working within a defined scope and with identified populations, the PA will work closely with the assigned supervising physician(s) within agreed upon guidelines and under specific medical directives.
The PA will function as a vital part of the team of surgeons, nurses, clinical fellows and allied health professionals providing care for gynecologic oncology patients in a physician-extender role. This will include but will not be limited to ambulatory clinic patient assessments, (exercising clinical skills, physical examination, interpretation of test results, ordering of tests and procedures) and comprehensive inpatient unit medical management.
The PA will be offered training and education opportunities both at orientation and also at an ongoing basis. There is also potential for involvement in many of the research clinical trials available onsite.
