The Technician, Library Collections and Procurement is responsible for the day‑to‑day operational and technical procedures for the print and online library.
Key Responsibilities- Acquisitions: ordering books and other materials, checking new items into the library system (serials, loose‑leaf releases), and distributing print consolidations, desk books, and e‑versions to lawyers.
- Reference Service: user support and instruction on using the library catalog, organizing the collection, and accessing databases; arranging inter‑library loans with BLG, local firms, courthouse libraries, and government.
- General maintenance of the library premises and collections: maintaining the book circulation system, shelving and tidying the library, organizing and inventorying firm archives, binding and repairing books.
- Collaboration:
working on project assignments to advance the national library model and providing assistance or backup in delivering library services to lawyers.
- Library technician diploma or equivalent.
- Highly‑developed interpersonal, communication, organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with people at all levels.
