Position RequirementsAll tutors work after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). A commitment through the school year—and ideally through summer—is preferred. This is an in‑person role; online instruction is not offered. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory. You must be able to commute to our North York location. Your dedication and reliability are essential.
Schedule- Evenings (Monday–Thursday)
- Saturday availability (9:00 am–1:00 pm)
$18 – $20 per hour.
Education- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Senior university students with extensive tutoring experience considered
- Teaching certification is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum, including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
- Teaching/tutoring math and science at Grade 9–12 (or equivalent)
- Strong written and oral English communication skills
- Excellent math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask with up to four students simultaneously
- Teach up to four students at a time at various levels
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
