Part‑Time High School Math/Science Tutor

Position Requirements

All tutors work after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). A commitment through the school year—and ideally through summer—is preferred. This is an in‑person role; online instruction is not offered. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory. You must be able to commute to our North York location. Your dedication and reliability are essential.

Schedule
  • Evenings (Monday–Thursday)
  • Saturday availability (9:00 am–1:00 pm)
Compensation

$18 – $20 per hour.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Senior university students with extensive tutoring experience considered
  • Teaching certification is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum, including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology
Experience
  • Teaching/tutoring math and science at Grade 9–12 (or equivalent)
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills
  • Excellent math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask with up to four students simultaneously
Responsibilities
  • Teach up to four students at a time at various levels
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
