Havergal College, an independent girls’ school in Toronto, is seeking an upper school music supply teacher who can inspire students and deliver exceptional instruction across the 7‑12 grades. • Implements lesson plans provided by the music teacher, ensuring program integrity and adherence to allotted time.
• Demonstrates effective classroom management.
• Understand and follow relevant school procedures, including attendance, supervision, and emergency protocols.
• Report all student injuries, incidents, illnesses, and discipline issues to the appropriate authority immediately.
• Complete a Supply Teacher Report Form.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Academics, in accordance with school policies and practices.

• Relevant university qualifications at the Bachelor level (e.g., Bachelor of Music) and a Bachelor of Education/Master of Teaching degree with intermediate/senior qualifications in instrumental or vocal music.
• Certification from the Ontario College of Teachers and good standing as a member.
• Experience as a non‑practicum music teacher or ensemble director is an asset.
• High level musical knowledge and proficiency on a musical instrument.
• Comprehensive understanding of the current Ministry of Ontario curriculum.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Well‑developed classroom management skills.
• Ability to take direction and be open to feedback.
