Part-Time Elementary & High School Tutors Wanted

Our hours count–gain valuable teaching experience! Oxford Learning York Mills is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for roles in our learning centre. If you love working with students, enjoy teaching language skills, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you.
Position Overview: As a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Our Tutors do not have to worry about lesson planning, as all lessons are pre-planned. You will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on what you do best – teaching!
Position Requirements
- Availability during after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
- Commitment through to the end of the 2025-26 school year (June 26th), with the possibility of continuing through the summer
- In-person instruction
- Ability to commute to the designated location (no relocation packages available)
- Mandatory vulnerable sector screening
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Third-year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
- Working towards or having a teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum
- Knowledge of high school sciences and math an asset
- Abilty to teach French an asset but not required
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
- The ability to teach French is also highly desired
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
As an Interactive Coach, you will:
- Teach up to 4 students at a time
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Complete daily student communication updates
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times (create a fun learning environment)

Salary: $18 - $20 / hour (depending on teachable subjects and grade levels)
