Librarian Cataloguer for specialized government library client, north Toronto.
Job Type: Temporary.
Initial Term: October 6, 2025 to Friday, December 19 2025, with possible extension.
Compensation: $30 per hour.

Work Hours:
From 8 am to 4 pm, not including a 30 min unpaid lunch break and two 15 minute breaks, Monday to Friday (37.5 work hours per week).
Work Location: Hybrid - after initial onsite orientation period, will transition to 2 days per week remote and 3 days per week onsite at our client's Toronto facility, near TTC station.
Responsibilities- Librarian to provide cataloguing services to specialized library, supporting both residential and distance learning and strategic studies.
- Apply metadata standards for the cataloguing of print and electronic resources using SIRSIDYNIX SYMPHONY integrated library system.
- Catalogue print, electronic and as well as other resources.
- Additional librarian and cataloguer responsibilities as assigned.
Education: Master of Library or Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program.

Work Experience:
Minimum 6 months of hands-on work experience in cataloguing within the last 3 years.

Experience from a college, university or specialized library.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements:
- Proficiency with SIRSIDYNIX SYMPHONY, Horizon or Ex LIBRIS.
- Proficiency with standard MSOffice software applications.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Focused and able to work effectively with minimal direction and supervision, to prioritize tasks effectively, and to manage volume targets and due dates.

- Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and exercise good judgement in the interpretation and application of instructions and organization policy.
- Superior attention to detail, and organized, methodical approach to completion of tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and collaboratively and liaise effectively with a wide and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
- Ability to work both remotely and onsite, abiding by organization health and safety policies.
- Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities.
- Ability to complete a satisfactory Federal Government security check, including a Fingerprint Check, prior to assignment start. Marberg will reimburse the cost of the security checks upon submission of approved expense receipts.
- Provision of certification of AODA and OHSA online training course completion prior to assignment start.
- Satisfactory Background Checks, Technical Skills Evaluations, and Employment References.
