Join the team at Oxford Learning Don Valley as a part‑time French teacher/tutor/coach. Ignite your passion for helping students succeed – en français! We teach students HOW to learn French. We help students improve their academic and study skills in a small group setting. Our class sizes are small with a maximum of three students per teacher.
We provide all of the curriculum and lessons. Teachers do not need to lesson plan. Our teachers explain and guide students through the provided material and help students talk about their understanding.
Position Requirements
- All Tutors work after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). Commitment through the school year is preferred; continuing through summer is even better.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
- Strong background in spoken and written French and English.
- Comfortable teaching up to Grade 9 level; experience up to Grade 12 preferred.
- Must instruct class sessions in French.
- Position is in‑person; relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Salary
: $18 – $20 per hour
Schedule
- Evenings, Monday to Thursday (3 pm – 8 pm)
- Availability may be flexible within these hours.
- Saturday morning availability is an asset but not required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification an asset but not required.
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 French core curriculum.
Experience
- Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to four students at a time.
Responsibilities
- Teach up to four students at a time at different levels.
- Deliver lessons online and in‑person.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Add post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
