About

YWCA Toronto – Camp Tapawingo

Camp Tapawingo is a summer camp near Parry Sound which offers carefully developed programming in a relaxed camp setting on beautiful Georgian Bay. Girls and gender diverse youth thrive as they develop leadership skills, gain confidence and embark on new experiences and fun adventures. YWCA Toronto is committed to increasing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) within Camp Tapawingo programs and services.

We aspire to be a camp representative of Toronto’s diverse community and to provide a welcoming space where camp participants, families, counsellors-in-training and staff feel safe and valued. We provide financial assistance to help remove barriers for girls and gender diverse youth to access the outdoors.

  • Contribute to program administration in all seasons including data collection, social media, newsletters and budget supports.
  • Live on-site at camp from June until September and spring and fall as needed.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with youth, families, and partner organizations.
  • Comfort working outdoors in an overnight summer camp environment.

  • Ability to work independently in the city during off-season and collaboratively in a camp environment during summer.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings/weekends during the school year and full-time onsite during the camping season.
  • Demonstrated good judgement, flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for youth development.
  • Valid driver’s license.
