Experience:

Previous evaluation of performance as an Assistant at the University (if applicable).

* Total hours = 50

Course delivery can be online, in-person or hybrid at the sole discretion of the hiring unit. Candidates who are required for in-person courses will be required to carryout their duties on campus. Candidates working remotely are required to have access to the appropriate technology, i.e. computer with camera and microphone and high-speed internet.

* Actual hours may vary at offer time dependent on qualifications and determined rate of pay. Employees can work up to a maximum of 130 hours per semester or 390 hours per academic year. Employees shall not be guaranteed work and when not on assignment they shall not receive any pay or payment in lieu of benefits.

Orientation for new AAs:

TMU offers paid, mandatory training for AAs who are currently working their first AA (first time hires, not first time in a given Faculty) position s mandatory online training includes the following:
Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Workplace Violence Prevention and Response, Access to Information and Protection of Privacy, Environmental Health and Safety, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). New assistants will be paid 4 hours to complete this training.

Faculty general orientation sessions may be offered to first time Assistant hires. This orientation is a minimum of 1.5 hours.

You may complete this training prior to the commencement of your appointment. Please complete this training no later than within two weeks after the start of your contract. After completion of this training, you are required to forward your certificates of completion to the CYC School, Darlene Hunt,  in order to receive payment.

You may be encouraged to successfully complete on-line Ryerson AA training. Please discuss training with course supervisor. See further:
