OverviewThe Department of Cell & Systems Biology in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the field of Animal Morphogenesis. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Research and QualificationsWe seek outstanding applicants with a track record of demonstrated excellence in applying cell biological approaches to address fundamental questions in animal morphogenesis that will enhance and complement the strengths of the Department of Cell & Systems Biology in genomics, developmental biology, cell biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. Candidates must employ cutting edge approaches in imaging, mechanobiology, and/or systems biology to address questions of tissue morphogenesis during animal development.
RequirementsCandidates must have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field (e.g., Molecular & Cellular Biology, Systems Biology, Synthetic Biology, Developmental Biology, Genome Biology, Genetics, etc.), a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience, and a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue and establish a vigorous, innovative, externally funded, and independent research program.
