We seek an individual inspired by our mission, whose beliefs align with our core values of integrity, inquiry, compassion and courage, and who reflects our core competencies to join our Junior School as an Assistant Head of Junior School
, beginning in August 2026. This is a full-time position.
Salary range: $120,000 to $160,000. The total compensation for this Assistant Head position is based on placement on the Havergal College faculty grid plus a $20,000 leadership stipend (included in the salary range above). Grid placement is determined by teaching qualifications and experience up to a maximum of 11 years, and is scheduled to increase for the 2026–2027 academic year. Final placement within the range is based on the successful candidate’s credentials and years of experience.

The Assistant Head of Junior School (AH-JS) works diligently to ensure that each Junior School student is known, valued and cared for. They collaborate with all stakeholders to create a school environment where students have access to a broad range of opportunities within a community that prioritizes wellbeing, belonging, and engagement.
The Assistant Head of the Junior School is accountable for the smooth day-to-day operations of the Junior School, including coordinating operational and communication processes, developing duty schedules, special schedules, and class coverage procedures, overseeing after school care staff and programs, and planning major Junior School events.
