Description
The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto invites applications for one full‑time tenure‑stream position in Community and Organizational Social Work Practice. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
The successful candidate is expected to contribute to curriculum and research related to communities and organizations. This can include research and teaching focused on human services management and leadership, community organizing and development, public policy advocacy, organizational and program development, social work with marginalized communities, and other domains that focus on organizations and communities.
Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Social Work or a related discipline by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research, and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
Evidence of research excellence and an emerging research reputation can be demonstrated by the ability to attract external funding, field‑relevant peer‑reviewed publications or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, conference presentations, awards and accolades, a submitted research statement, and strong endorsements by referees of high standing.
Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through a teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below) as well as strong letters of reference.
