Job Description & How to Apply Below

The mission of the Toronto Waldorf School (TWS) is to meet each student through a unique, challenging educational experience that encourages wonder, fosters inspiration, and leads to fulfilment of life purpose. At TWS, the Anthroposophical understanding of child development guides the educational program. We hold a reverence for childhood.

  • We have the courage to do what is right for our children and our community. Respect, trust, and authenticity are the foundation for all our relationships.
  • The diversity of our community is important to us.
  • We embrace the ideals of servant leadership.
  • We are stewards of our green space and our Environment.
  • Parents work together with the faculty and administration towards our common goals.
About The School

TWS believes in Education from a deeper perspective™, it is core to our approach and focused on three key themes for students including:

  • Academic Integration:At TWS we plan every learning activity attending to its impact on mind, body and spirit. We understand each one affects the others and all engage in the learning process.
  • The Right Thing at The Right Time
    :
At TWS, we recognize and build upon the physiological, emotional and intellectual changes as the students develop. Our specially trained teachers present material when the class is ready and able to work with it, whether it’s the fundamentals of reading or arithmetic, the structure of an essay or grappling with atomic theory.
  • How To Think, Not What To Think: At TWS we recognize a lifelong love of learning is more valuable than memorizing a book of facts; it contributes to success in any field of endeavour. From the earliest days in a classroom, creativity is fostered. It helps build the developmental foundation on which dynamic, innovative and analytic thinking are built.

Our teachers help students develop skills – observation, reflection and judgement – that empower students to build their understanding. This forms the basis of thoughtfulness and critical thinking, giving our students the confidence to make sense of what they experience in the real world.
