Course Specific Qualifications
To teach this course, the following course specific teaching qualifications must be met, and evidence included in a teaching .
Applicants’ dossiers must clearly include evidence demonstrating the ways in which the position requirements have been met including:
academic credentialsprofessional designationsyears of experience in nonprofit sector and specifically in a leadership capacitycurrency in the field (including the nonprofit sector and specific to the area of instruction)teaching experience (including experience teaching in the same format, e.g., online/distance)teaching effectiveness (such as student evaluations, feedback, surveys, reference letters, peer teaching observations)teaching philosophy statement (indicating commitment to equity in teaching practice and diverse learners)These requirements should be organized under subheadings in the teaching dossier to enable a clear, easy to follow demonstration of evidence.

Education
The minimum educational qualifications for this role are as follows:
Applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a related discipline, or an undergraduate degree plus an equivalent excellent record of other academic credentials, professional designations, and professional experience appropriate to the area of instruction.Experience
Applicants must have at least five years of experience, within the last ten years, in the nonprofit sector as a senior manager, leader, consultant or an equivalent/comparable level of excellent knowledge and understanding of the sector.Applicants must have experience and knowledge in the area or topic of instruction related to the nonprofit sector. This could include relevant work experience, community experience, academic study, and/or other experience in the profession or discipline and in the nonprofit sector.Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience, by number of courses, teaching the same or equivalent courses in the same mode (e.g., online/distance). The same or similar courses taught at Toronto Metropolitan University are preferred.Currency
Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated current and ongoing connection to the area of instruction through professional development, association membership, publications, and engagement in sector activity.Evidence of having maintained up-to-date knowledge (including practical skills, where appropriate) and achievement in the nonprofit sector field/discipline.Teaching Skills and Effective Interaction
Evidence of teaching effectively to adult learners and/or evidence of teaching effectively in a post-secondary environment which may include relevant assessment tools or equivalent documentation.Effective ability to teach a course in a learning management system, with the ability toengage and interact effectively with adult learners and colleagues in a diverse and inclusive environment; with the ability to include equity, diversity and inclusion into the teaching.
