The minimum educational qualifications for this role are as follows:
Applicants must have a terminal degree in an appropriate discipline or profession or an equivalent excellent record of other academic credentials and/or professional designations appropriate to the area of instructionExperience
Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of fashion apparel, the breadth of the current fashion industry and fashion history, specifically the history of costume designEmployment history demonstrating long-term, consistent and substantial practice is preferredGlobal industry experience is an assetApplicants must have experience developing curriculum and professional industry-related workshops for an adult learnerApplicants must have experience teaching adult learners with university-level teaching experience in this field preferredCurrency
Applicants should be involved in the fashion community, with membership(s) and board or advisory roles in professional organizations in the field; and recent presentations and conferences and workshop and/or publications, research, and awards related to the fieldApplicants with a leadership position in a relevant field are preferredTeaching Skills and Effective Interaction
Evidence of teaching effectively to adult learners and/or evidence of teaching effectively in a post-secondary environment which may include relevant assessment tools or equivalent documentationEvidence of ability to interact effectively with adult learners and colleagues in a diverse and inclusive environment; ability to work effectively in groups; ability to resolve conflicts constructivelyEvidence of ability to include equity, diversity and inclusion into their teachingAbility to empathize with others and consider varied perspectivesAbility to carry out the duties and obligations of a CECL in accordance with Article 12 of the Collective AgreementOnline Qualifications
Demonstrated experience of ability to effectively teach in an online environment which includes demonstrated knowledge of best practices for the delivery and management of online courses, including using course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a collaborative online learning community with and between students in the course.Evidence of having maintained up to date knowledge in online teaching. Successful completion of the Chang School's Teaching Adult Learners Online (TALO) preferred.Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of personal computers that are relevant to this course, including document creation, file management, internet research, and communicationsApplicants must demonstrate their knowledge of best practices for the delivery and management of online courses as adopted by The Chang School, including, but not limited to:
Use course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a collaborative online learning community with and between students in the course
Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work Respond to student academic and course administration inquiries in a timely manner and refer students to technical support or student support when appropriate
Ensure academic integrity in the creation and administration of assignments, tests, and exams in an online environmentHow to Apply

The rate of pay for credit courses is $184.74 per hour.
Course dates and scheduling information may be found on . The contract end date for CE Contract Lecturers is the final grade submission date each term, not the course end date. This allows CECLs to continue to have access to University premises and systems up to the date they must submit their final grades to the University.
