Entry to School (ETS) Floater – Canada Summer Jobs PositionPosition Title: ETS Floater
Program: Entry to School (ETS)
Organization: SAAAC Autism Centre
Position Type: Seasonal – 8 Week Contract
Hours: 35 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour
Location: Greater Toronto Area (travel to multiple program locations may be required)
The ETS Floater supports the Entry to School (ETS) team by assisting classroom facilitators in delivering group‑based programming for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will work collaboratively with team members to support program implementation, prepare activities and materials, and assist with the delivery of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)‑based strategies under the guidance of clinical consultants and supervisors.
This role is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program and is intended to provide meaningful employment experience within the non‑profit and developmental services sector.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with Classroom Facilitators to support and implement group‑based programming
- Assist in implementing individualized strategies for children as recommended by Clinical Consultants
- Support the monitoring of children’s progress and assist with goal setting
- Prepare activities, visual supports, and program materials
- Participate in and facilitate group activities and classroom routines
- Keep Supervisors and Classroom Facilitator #2 (CF2) informed of program concerns or observations
- Effectively use ABA teaching strategies and behavioural support approaches
- Participate in team meetings and staff discussions
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive team‑oriented approach
- Travel to different program locations as required
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed post‑secondary education in Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Autism and Behavioural Science, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field is considered an asset
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is considered an asset
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations when required
To be eligible for this Canada Summer Jobs funded position, candidates must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
