Functional French Instructor - In-Person

Engage students in Functional French with the University of Toronto as a Sessional Lecturer. This in-person role focuses on phonetic basics and cultural awareness in the French language.

The University of Toronto offers a Sessional Lecturer opportunity for the FSL
105H5F course from September to December 2026. This position involves teaching novice-level French, covering essential vocabulary, phonetics, and cultural contexts. Candidates must have a graduate degree in French Studies and previous teaching experience for university-level courses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver course content effectively

• Interact with students through email and office hours

• Develop and administer assignments and exams

• Calculate and submit student grades accurately

• Supervise teaching assistants, if applicable

Requirements:

• Graduate-level degree in French Studies

• Experience teaching French as a second language

• Near-native competence in French, written and spoken

• Excellence in teaching similar university courses preferred
