The University of Toronto seeks a Sessional Lecturer for CIN
431H1F, focusing on cinema and society. This in-person role runs from September to December 2026 on the St. George campus.
Ideal candidates will possess substantial teaching experience along with a Master’s degree in Cinema/Film. You will guide students in critically analyzing film narratives related to work and leisure, leveraging your five-plus years of university-level teaching experience and expertise in film history and theory.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and deliver engaging course lectures
• Assess and provide feedback on student essays
• Conduct weekly office hours for student support
• Maintain communication through email and meetings
• Coordinate curriculum with the Director as needed
Requirements:
• MA in Cinema/Film is essential
• Minimum 5 years of university teaching experience
• Proven experience in grading cinema-related essays
• Evidence of effective teaching strategies
• Flexibility to adapt to online teaching if required
