The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures invites applications for a three‑year full‑time contractually limited term appointment (CLTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2026.

• Teach undergraduate German language courses at all levels (beginner to intermediate).
• Manage, mentor, and coordinate teaching assistants and course instructors.
• Steward course materials and curriculum delivery, including online material and lectures.
• Coordinate the German language sequence and serve as department coordinator.
• Provide departmental administration support.

• Earned a PhD in German Studies or a related field by the time of appointment.
• Native or near‑native German proficiency.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, including innovative second‑language instruction and curriculum development.
• Experience coordinating multi‑section language courses at beginners’ and intermediate levels.
• Commitment to pedagogical inquiry and teaching‑related scholarly activities.

Salary range: CAD $105,000–$130,000 per annum, depending on experience. The salary range may be negotiable for exceptionally qualified candidates.
