Salary Range: $39.92 – $46.30 per hour
Responsibilities Work collaboratively with homeroom teachers, specialists, school leadership, and fellow Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) to support student learning, development, inclusion, and well‑being.
Provide direct support to individual students and small groups under the pedagogical guidance of teachers.
Facilitate educational activities, workshops, and learning experiences aligned with the school’s program and curriculum.
Support designated teachers in the classroom, including lesson preparation, implementation, and follow‑up activities.
Assist with the preparation, organization, maintenance, and storage of instructional materials, resources, and equipment.
Promote student welfare and social‑emotional development through positive discipline practices, appropriate role‑modeling, and the reinforcement of positive behaviour.
Observe student progress and share relevant information with teachers and the educational team to support student success.
Maintain positive and professional communication with families regarding students’ well‑being and development, in collaboration with the teaching team.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that fosters engagement, independence, and respect.
Supervise students during lunch, recess, transitions, field trips, and other school activities as required.
Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and school events, contributing to the effective delivery of educational programs.
Provide classroom coverage and replace in classrooms as required to ensure continuity of student learning and supervision.
Ensure compliance with all requirements of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry of Education regulations, Public Health standards, and other applicable legislation.
Maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment that supports the well‑being of children.
Develop and maintain required administrative procedures, records, and documentation to meet regulatory and licensing requirements.
Ensure compliance with One Key Service Canada requirements and other applicable reporting frameworks.
Collaborate with educators, families, community partners, and school leadership to support program quality and continuous improvement.
Work closely with the Principal and Vice‑Principal on program implementation, compliance, and operational matters.
Provide guidance, training, and support to Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and assistants.
Attend required meetings, inspections, and professional development activities.
Coordinate and oversee the Summer Child Care Program, including planning, staffing, daily operations, and compliance with Ministry and CCEYA requirements.
Maintain all Summer Child Care Program documentation, records, and compliance portfolios.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field; CECE membership preferred. Registration with AFÉSEO is an asset.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in childcare, preschool, or elementary school settings.
Knowledge of CCEYA, Ministry of Education requirements, and childcare licensing standards.
Strong organizational, administrative, leadership, and time‑management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to changing priorities, and solve problems effectively.
Professional, discreet, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
Valid First Aid/CPR and Food Handler Certification are assets.
