To teach this course, the following course specific teaching qualifications must be met, and evidence included in a teaching .

Education

The minimum educational qualifications for this role are as follows:

Relevant Master’s Degree, PhD preferred

An equivalent excellent record of other university-level academic credentials and professional designations appropriate to the area of accounting may be considered

One of the following Canadian professional accreditation requirements: CPA

Experience

Relevant work and/or community experience in the professional field or discipline.

Relevant teaching experience.

Demonstration of both quantitative and qualitative measures of teaching effectiveness should be provided.

Applicants must have taught the same or equivalent course at a university within the past 2 years, with preference given to applicants who have taught this course at Toronto Metropolitan University. Applicants who have taught the same or equivalent course at a community college within the past 2 years may be considered.

Currency

Evidence of having maintained up-to-date knowledge (including practice skills, where appropriate) and achievements in their field/discipline

Academic publications if applicable

Professional profile including professional or academic presentations, evidence of having maintained up-to-date knowledge (including practice skills, where appropriate) and achievements in their field/discipline

Other demonstrated professional currency related to course

Teaching Skills and Effective Interaction

Evidence of teaching effectively to adult learners and/or evidence of teaching effectively in a post-secondary environment which may include relevant assessment tools or equivalent documentation

Evidence of ability to interact effectively with adult learners and colleagues in a diverse and inclusive environment; ability to work effectively in groups; ability to resolve conflicts constructively

Evidence of ability to include equity, diversity and inclusion into their teaching

Ability to empathize with others and consider varied perspectives

Ability to carry out the duties and obligations of a CECL in accordance with Article 12 of the Collective Agreement

Online Qualifications

Demonstrated experience of ability to effectively teach in an online environment which includes demonstrated knowledge of best practices for the delivery and management of online courses, including using course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a collaborative online learning community with and between students in the course.

Evidence of having maintained up to date knowledge in online teaching. Successful completion of the Chang School's Teaching Adult Learners Online (TALO) preferred.

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of personal computers that are relevant to this course, including document creation, file management, internet research, and communications
