Gain valuable teaching experience at Oxford Learning Bayview Woods. We are currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for our learning centre for the upcoming school year (2026‑2027). If you love working with students, enjoy teaching language skills, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you.
Position OverviewAs a Teacher‑Tutor, you will work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math, French, and, for High School students, math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. All lessons are pre‑planned, and you will receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on teaching.
Position Requirements- Availability during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
- Commitment through the end of the 2026‑27 school year (June 30), with the possibility of continuing through the summer.
This role is in‑person. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Education- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Third‑year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
- Working towards or having a teaching certification is an asset
- Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- The ability to teach French is also highly desired
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Teach up to 3 students at a time in Elementary grades or up to 2 students at a time in Grades 9‑12
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times (create a fun learning environment)
Help students develop their self‑confidence and self‑esteem. Receive ongoing training opportunities, frequent check‑ins and feedback, and company growth opportunities.
