Social Inequality

Course description:  Examines the causes, prevalence and manifestations of social, political and economic inequalities, internationally and within Canada. The effects of gender, age, ethnicity-race, among other characteristics, are carefully analyzed in Canada and cross-culturally..

Estimated TA support:  210 hours (subject to enrolment)

Sessional dates of appointment :
September 1 - December 31, 2026

Salary :
Minimum stipend $9,997.48 for a Half course (inclusive of vacation pay)

Candidates must have a PhD in Sociology or equivalent as demonstrated by refereed/published research, strong academic record, previous experience teaching a similar course, and evidence of teaching excellence in the subject covered in the course.

Description of duties:  All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising TA’s assigned to course; order all necessary readings.
