Quantitative Analysis of Social Data at the University of Toronto this fall. Applicants must have a PhD in Sociology with proven teaching excellence.
This Sessional Lecturer position runs from September 1 to December 31, 2026. The role entails designing and delivering the course, developing assignments and exams, and submitting grades. Candidates will oversee TA support and ensure students gain crucial insights into social data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and teach the SOC
222H5F course
• Develop and mark assignments, tests, and exams
• Hold regular office hours for student support
• Supervise teaching assistants assigned to the course
• Order and prepare necessary reading materials
Requirements:
• PhD in Sociology or equivalent experience
• Strong academic record and published research
• Previous experience teaching similar courses
• Evidence of teaching excellence
• Preference for Sessional Lecturer II or III ranking
