Overview  TRSM Retail Management position located in downtown Toronto. The Department of Retail in the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University invites applications for a Limited Term Faculty (LTF) position at the rank of Assistant Professor in areas of retail strategy, innovation, and consumer insight. The appointment shall be effective July 1, 2026, for a one-year term, subject to final budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will engage in teaching and service duties of faculty members in the Department of Retail, while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment. The candidate will contribute to the undergraduate BComm (Hons) program through teaching and service.
Responsibilities   Teach and perform service duties within the Department of Retail for the undergraduate BComm (Hons) program.
Collaborate to support program objectives, course and curriculum development, and evaluation of pedagogy.
Contribute to an inclusive and accessible learning environment for a diverse student population.
Engage in collegial service to the Department and University.
Qualifications   Master’s degree in retail or a closely related field by the appointment date;
PhD preferred.
Experience working in the retail industry is required.
Evidence of teaching excellence across undergraduate levels, including a teaching philosophy statement, syllabi, evaluations, awards, and other relevant teaching achievements.
Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in teaching and service activities, with demonstrated ability to make learning accessible and inclusive.
Ability and willingness to contribute to the life of the Department of Retail and the University through collegial service.
Terms and Benefits   Limited Term Faculty appointments may not exceed a combined total of four years.
Minimum salary for the Assistant Professor rank is $ per annum; salary is commensurate with qualifications.
This position falls under the Toronto Metropolitan Faculty Association (TFA); view the TFA collective agreement and benefits on the university site.
