Location: 10 Lower Spadina Avenue, Toronto, ON

Work Model: Hybrid (subject to change based on organizational needs)

Salary Range: $63,000-$89,000

Position Overview

The Curriculum Specialist ensures the accuracy, currency, and quality of content across Advocis’ designation, licensing, and curriculum programs. This role is ideal for a financial planning professional with strong writing and analytical skills who enjoys translating complex technical concepts into clear, high-quality educational content.

Key Responsibilities Curriculum Quality & Content Management
  • Maintain and update curriculum content.
  • Review and revise textbook chapters, assessments, instructor slides, and resource materials.
  • Ensure all content reflects current legislation and industry practice.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject‑matter experts.
Assessment & Question Analytics
  • Analyze multiple‑choice questions using foundational statistical methods.
  • Interpret question‑level performance data in Excel to recommend revisions.
  • Maintain test bank quality and accuracy.
Candidate Support & Technical Guidance
  • Respond to candidate content questions and provide clear technical explanations.
  • Use learning platforms to post announcements, FAQs, clarifications, and guidance.
  • Refer complex issues to internal partners where appropriate.
Webinar Delivery
  • Deliver national webinars as needed.
  • Present financial planning concepts clearly and engagingly to advisor audiences.
Continuous Improvement & Insights
  • Monitor regulatory updates, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
  • Identify gaps or opportunities within existing curriculum and provide improvement recommendations.
What You Bring Required
  • Post‑secondary education in financial planning, business, or adult education.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a financial planning, advisory, or wealth management environment.
  • Strong financial planning knowledge and acumen is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and explain technical financial planning concepts.
  • Experience in professional writing and technical writing.
  • CFP, CLU, PFA, or PFP designation is highly desirable.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, learner‑friendly language.
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply basic statistical analysis to assessment items.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Blackboard, D2L, Moodle).
  • Experience presenting technical topics in a virtual environment.

  • Test bank questions perform reliably and fairly.
  • Candidates receive timely and accurate technical support.
