Compensation
Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.
· Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ per hour.
· Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ per hour.
· In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
Duties
The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.
Qualifications
1. Completed undergraduate degree in disability studies, psychology, child and youth studies, or related field and previous completion of ADST 5P00 (or similar course) with a grade of >85%.
2. Experience in the field of disabilities.
3. Ability to communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback.
4. Ability to prioritize work and meet agreed upon deadlines.
5. Available to attend in Toronto
* and/or attend online synchronous and asynchronous course support – weekday/evenings/weekend.
6. Experience using Brightspace or other learning management systems.
7. Experience using video conferencing platforms (, Lifesize, Microsoft Teams)
8. Available for online, email and phone office hours during the week.
Please note that preference will be given to MA students in the LDCC specialization.
