About the Program Manager, PSW to PN (Learn and Earn)The Program Manager provides academic, operational, and student success leadership for the Personal Support Worker to Practical Nursing (PSW to PN) Learn and Earn program. Working closely with the Dean, the Program Manager oversees day‑to‑day program operations, supports faculty and students, builds community and industry partnerships, and ensures academic quality and positive student outcomes.
The successful candidate is a Registered Nurse with strong academic experience who is passionate about program innovation, student engagement, and collaborative teamwork.
Key Responsibilities Program Operations- Create and implement a program delivery plan for the program.
- Oversee daily management of the PSW to PN Learn and Earn program.
- Coordinate with the Dean on student timetabling and determine staffing needs based on enrolment.
- Attend Operations meetings, Program Advisory Committees, Open House, and Convocation.
- Support online orientation and Open House activities.
- Provide direction to the Associate Director of Operations on program promotion and marketing.
- Update PSW to PN course outlines and critical paths each semester to align with the PSW to PN Learn and Earn program delivery.
- Order and manage textbooks and course resources prior to each semester.
- Create the student timetable and work with the Dean for hiring of staff.
- Create and maintain the program Blackboard site.
- Work with the Partnership Office to maintain the database of current and incoming students.
- Prepare student orientation materials.
- Work with the Partnership Office to respond to inquiries from prospective applicants and conduct outreach through email, phone, and in‑person meetings.
- In consultation with the Dean, address student concerns, academic integrity matters, and requests for support.
- Work closely with the Humber Partnership Office regarding student enrolment.
- Work with Humber Finance Department for quarterly reporting on expenses.
- Direct students to appropriate Humber services (Accessibility, Advising, Career Success Centre, etc.).
- Liaise with internal and external partners including the Registrar’s Office, FHLS Placement Team, and mobility/admissions departments.
- Monitor academic progress and ensure students meet program requirements.
- Mentor students throughout their practicum placements.
- Guide students through placement documentation, communication with supervisors, and placement confirmation.
- Advise students on course pathway and program mapping.
- Prepare analytical reports for the Dean, School of Nursing.
- Identify trends related to admissions, exemptions, registration, and academic performance.
- Work with the School of Nursing Program Support Officer and FHLS Business Manager to prepare quarterly funding reports for Humber Finance for the purposes of grant reconciliation.
- Specialized University Degree in Nursing (BScN)
- Registered Nurse (RN) designation required
- Master’s degree an asset
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in academic, professional, or clinical practice
- Leadership experience is an asset.
- 2 years of post‑secondary teaching experience required
- Experience working with program operations, curriculum, advising, placement or student success initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical, managerial, and pedagogical knowledge in a higher education environment
- Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and decision‑making abilities
- Demonstrated ability to support student success across diverse academic needs
- Experience developing community and industry partnerships
- Excellent communication skills for working with students, faculty, and external partners
- Ability to interpret and apply academic policies and procedures
