Senior School Debate Coach

Position: Senior School Debate Coach Opportunity
Elevate your coaching experience as a part-time Debate Coach at York School, focusing on high school debate excellence from September until June. Inspire students through debate learning and competition.

The York School is hiring a proactive Debate Coach to assist with its Senior School Debate Team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping students enhance their debating capabilities and public speaking skills. You will be responsible for mentoring students, guiding practices, and attending competitions throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and lead team practices and meetings

• Contribute to tournament logistics supporting the Head Coach

• Provide feedback on debate techniques and strategies

• Support students during local competitions

• Judge at various tournaments when necessary

Requirements:

• University degree completion or enrollment in postsecondary education preferred

• 1 to 2 years of experience debating at either high school or university level

• Knowledge of British Parliamentary and CP/CNDF debate formats

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Demonstrate flexibility and strong commitment

Support and develop young debaters at York School through effective coaching and mentorship.
