Position: Teacher for Native Languages Program
Become a vital part of Indigenous education as a Teacher in the Native Languages Program at Eastview Public School. This role is focused on fostering Ojibwe language skills among students.

The Toronto District School Board invites applications for a Native Languages Teacher for a 1-year term. Your expertise will aid in developing an educational delivery model that supports Indigenous students in their language acquisition journey. You will work collaboratively to promote a positive learning environment in line with the values set forth by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct students in Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin) language

• Tailor lessons to student’s individual learning styles

• Implement traditional practices within curriculum

• Promote positive identity in Indigenous students

• Collaborate with school principal and Indigenous education staff

Requirements:

• Experience as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit person

• Demonstrated ability to tackle racism and promote equity

• Strong understanding of Indigenous educational frameworks

• Teacher certification within the TDSB

• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning community
