This leadership role focuses on enhancing academic achievement and wellness for Indigenous students while promoting reconciliation and Indigenous legal education. You will design and implement culturally relevant programming, provide crucial student support, and collaborate with senior leaders on institutional strategies. Your work is vital in shaping pathways for Indigenous students within the legal education framework.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver culturally grounded advising and advocacy for Indigenous students
• Create co-curricular initiatives rooted in Indigenous legal traditions
• Build relationships with Indigenous Elders and community organizations
• Advise on Indigenous student experience and access pathways
• Contribute to the integration of Indigenous protocols in practices
Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (JD or LL.B.) and a master’s degree in a related field
• Minimum five years of experience in Indigenous-focused programming
• Knowledge of Indigenous governance and legal traditions
• Proven ability to sustain relationships with Indigenous communities
• Experience supporting student transitions to professional practice
