Shape future French speakers at the University of Toronto as a Sessional Lecturer for FSL
106H5F. Teach in-person classes focused on functional conversational skills and cultural awareness.
The appointment spans from September 1 to December 31, 2026, providing students with essential tools in the French language. Candidates must possess a graduate-level degree in French Studies and prior university teaching experience. The role requires preparing lessons, engaging with students, and grading their work effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design engaging French language course materials
• Facilitate student interactions through emails and office hours
• Administer and evaluate coursework, tests, and exams
• Calculate grades in accordance with university standards
• Supervise TAs assigned to the course
Requirements:
• Graduate degree in French Studies required
• Teaching experience in university-level French courses
• Near-native proficiency in spoken and written French
• Preference for teaching excellence demonstrated
• Embrace equity and inclusion in instruction
