Join the prestigious Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC), as a year-round establishment operating from both our Island and City Clubhouses, located at St George and Bloor in downtown Toronto, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service across all facets of our operations, including Food and Beverage, Fitness, Sports, and Sailing facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Racquets Instructor will be leading comprehensive programs including but not limited to squash and pickleball to meet the needs of all registered adult, youth and/or child participants. You must be a skilled instructor and capable of instructing a wide range of skill sets. They will be running weekly pickleball round robins, teach clinics as well as teach squash to young kids ages 3 and up.
Other duties include:
- Arrive at your program site in time to properly prepare, set up and start the program according to schedule.
- Develop a detailed program plans for a variety of ages and skill levels
- Follow the class format and content as required
- Ensure on-site safety of participants
- Deliver exceptional customer service (including welcoming, conduct and communication) to all participants
- Meet with prospective customers to provide program information and to encourage participation.
- Provide detailed feedback and progress and personal development plans to registrants and parents of registrants
- Conduct Program Administration (attendance tracking, registration update, incident reports as required)
- Work cooperatively and supervise instructor assistants and youth volunteers
- Attend staff meetings as requested
- Other duties as assigned
The following criteria will be considered in evaluating candidacy:
- Coaching Certification (such as National Coaching Certification Program), workshops, clinics, sport and other related training an asset.
- Experience in the development and implementation of age/skill appropriate racquet activities
- Emergency First Aid with AED/CPR B, or Standard First Aid with AED/CPR C
- Enthusiasm and passion for racquet sports
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Successful candidates, who are new hires and/or who have not performed in this position previously will be required to provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last 30 days as a condition of employment.
