- The Library Support Worker will assist the Library staff at the circulation desk as well as shelving library materials and working on other library projects. The position will range from 8-25 hours per week, depending on departmental needs and on the student’s current course load.
- Details regarding shifts and hours can be discussed with the manager. Shifts will include mornings, afternoons, evenings and/or Saturdays.
- It is required that student workers work at least one weekday evening per week and one or two Saturdays per semester.
General Duties:
- Accurately shelving and shifting library materials
- Learning library circulation policies
- Serving students and members of the Tyndale community at the circulation desk
- Answering procedural questions and referring more complex information queries to professional staff
- Cleaning as required
- Assisting with Library digitization projects
- Other duties as required: such as but not limited to downloading, repairs, and processing library items
- Shelf-reading and assisting with collection inventory
- High school diploma
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution
- Library experience desirable but not essential.
- Training will be provided.

- Be able to shelve quickly and accurately
- Be able to follow established procedures
- A dependable self-starter, able to work efficiently with minimum supervision
- A keen desire to serve family, church, work and community.
- A firm commitment to Tyndale’s mission, values, Statement of Faith and Community Standards Statement.
- Moderate physical effort, e.g. pushing book carts, lifting piles of heavy books (up to 20 kg)
- Working with standard office equipment (computers, photocopiers, etc.)
- Must be available to work outside regular business hours
