This one-year, 0.5 FTE position focuses on improving academic success for Indigenous students. You will apply effective Indigenous teaching strategies, assess student progress, and collaborate with staff to create inclusive learning experiences.
Your role also includes mentoring support and fostering equity in education for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement inclusive education programs
• Provide culturally safe learning environments for students
• Execute assessments to monitor student success
• Analyze data to inform programming decisions
• Mentor staff in adapting curricula for Indigenous students
Requirements:
• Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certification
• Fluency in Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin)
• Understanding of Indigenous knowledge systems
• Familiarity with Truth and Reconciliation principles
• Commitment to promoting equitable practices
